Your Host for this Masterclass

Steve Parish OAM is a passionate photographer, publisher, speaker, author, naturalist and digital artist.

He is one of the few Australian photographers who can look back on over six decades of photography, working across a vast range of Australian social and natural history subjects on land and underwater.

Step 4 and Step 5 include detailed video tutorials — from fieldcraft and capture through to digital workflow — alongside selected insights from trusted software and hardware professionals.

What's the best way to access the content?

For the best experience, we recommend downloading from the link on the Welcome Page via Dropbox to your tablet, laptop, or desktop (PC or Mac). These devices are ideal for viewing detailed eBooks, reference materials, and interactive links.

When you register, the Welcome Page video provides details on how best to navigate and store the eBooks and Videos.

Are the eBooks or videos large files?

This Masterclass includes image-rich eBooks and high-quality videos designed for close study, zooming, and long-term reference — particularly in the Seeing, Camera & Capture, and Digital Darkroom modules.

To preserve visual clarity and detail, some files are larger than average. We recommend downloading on a stable connection and viewing on a desktop or laptop for the best experience.

What’s the best way to view and work with the eBooks?

The eBooks can be viewed in any standard PDF reader. However, for Modules 4 and 5 in particular, many participants find it easiest to open the eBooks in a web browser.

This makes it easy to follow external links and return straight back to the eBook without losing your place — especially helpful when working on a single screen.

Can I access the Masterclass anytime?

Absolutely. You’ll have lifetime access to all materials, so you can learn at your own pace and revisit content whenever you like.

How long does the Masterclass take?

It’s designed as a lifetime reference — you can dip in and out, move step-by-step, or revisit modules as your interests evolve. As a practical guide, most participants spend:

  • Module 1 (creative life purpose): ~2–4 hours

  • Module 2 (projects with purpose): ~2–4 hours

  • Module 3 (learning to see): ~2–4 hours

  • Module 4 (cameras, capture & fieldcraft): ~3–6 hours

  • Module 5 (digital darkroom): ~3–6 hours

  • Module 6 (connecting with community): ~1–3 hours

That’s roughly 14–27 hours for the core pathway at a comfortable pace (many people then revisit Modules 3–5 as their skills grow).

Originally launched through Griffith University (2018) as a 12-week supported program.

Many participants take a few months to work through it comfortably, while others dip in and out as needed. Lifetime access means you set the pace.

Will I have access to Steve and other students?

Yes! You can join a supportive Facebook group to connect with fellow students and share your progress. Steve is also available directly via email for any queries you may have..
